Birth & Baby at The QE

birth balls

I run Antenatal Courses, Birth Workshops, Relax & Breathe Workshops and individual consultations in the QE Maternity Unit in Gateshead.

I am very proud to work within the QE – It is a brilliant maternity unit, staffed by fantastic midwives.

It is a great space for groups to use positions, movement and relaxation skills for labour…

Birth & Baby Cafe

BUILDING A hub for parents with a young family

The Birth & Baby Cafe is based within a community centre in North Shields and it is for all parents with a bump, baby or toddler  - there is free parking right outside the door and it is a short walk from the Metro.

The sessions are run by professional and dedicated Birth & Baby Network practitioners and – as an experienced Birth & Baby practitioner, I am around for support, reassurance and to answer any questions about bump, birth, baby and toddler.

This Birth & Baby Cafe has plenty of space and it will be the base for my one to one consultations as well as for visits from the North East Sling Library and Grow Up Green Nappies and I am also putting together a library of good pregnancy, birth, baby and parenting books.

At the Birth & Baby Cafe there will always be tea, coffee, cake and biscuits to help yourself to. Please do pass on information about the Birth & Baby Cafe because there is alot going on to benefit parents and they don’t know about it, they can’t join in.

I love an admin day…

Back from a few days away with Team Smith which turned into a bit of a road trip WITHOUT WIFI and which planted a seed for a longer UK road trip over the summer to explore the country WITH BETTER WIFI!

I’m not properly back at work until next week so I have several more days to hang out with my girls (and to get a tattoo, but we’ll come to that another day) but I will now be going through my emails and I have had a productive day today – I made some changes to the website and you can now download booking forms; and I have updated my course information and booking forms.  Next up will be the finalised Birth & Baby Booklets and online payments.

I am also running an extra Birth Workshop in North Shields this month, so if you are due in May/June get in touch.

Easter Break

I always try to take  some days off when my girls have their school holidays, I am not running any sessions for a couple of weeks but, inbetween swimming, playing, cooking and travelIing about, I will be putting together some new teaching activities for my antenatal classes and postnatal workshops.
